Geraldina Interiano Wise is a dreamer. Growing up in El Salvador under the tutelage of her father Armando in politics and her mother Geraldina in charity work, she dreamed of becoming an architect, working abroad and learning about cultures and housing from around the world, to eventually return to work in government towards providing better housing for her nation.
The civil war happened. Arriving to the US as a student of architecture, she was separated from her family and had to learn the meaning of the terms immigrant and Hispanic. She attended Vassar College and transferred to Rice University, where she obtained her two architecture degrees with majors in Art and Art History as well. After working in NYC, San Francisco and San Antonio…
Love happened. She married a Texan, settled in Houston and followed her dream of working in housing. Her first house was an award winning house in the Ojai Valley, California. The most famous houses she has worked on are for then Mayor of San Antonio Henry Cisneros and for Houston Texans owner Bob McNair.
TV and Radio happened. Having gone far form her roots and her dreams of helping her people, Geraldina set out to reach Hispanic families through the media, with concepts of how to live better, make good choices for the home, and how to save energy. She had her radio show Vida y Casa Latina in Univision Radio, and made numerous appearances on Spanish language TV.
Global warming happened. Having deep understanding of construction, materials and people, and having traveled the world, Geraldina moved in the direction of sustainability, of taking care of the earth for the younger generations. Her passion about doing the right thing for the earth and for our communities drives her design firm and ecologically minded corporation CASA CONCEPT, through which she brings to the marketplace materials and solutions for the home that are green and provide for better living.
